Ghost is an oil painting that explores the relationship between experience, memory, and identity. The composition is divided between light and darkness, with small beams of light passing through the figure; some of it stays with the figure, while others move through it. These fragments represent how experiences shape a person.

Inspired by a quote from ” Into the Wild ” by Jon Krakauer — “the core of man’s spirit comes from new experiences” — the piece reflects the idea that while moments may fade, parts of them remain embedded within us. Experiences do not entirely define who we are, but they can become part of our core, and that in itself is important enough to appreciate them as an extension of ourselves.

Painted in oil, the work uses layered brushstrokes and soft blending to create an almost translucent figure against the dark, textured background. Thick visible strokes give the fabric-like form movement and depth, while the scattered yellow highlights act as passing fragments of light and memory. The contrast between the glowing figure and the deep purple background creates a dreamlike atmosphere, reinforcing the feeling of transformation, impermanence, and emotional residue.
